Which day of your Side week for the canyon?

Side excursions that run twice a week force the week around them. The canyon does not: from every Side district it runs every day of the season, so you can place it where it fits best. Here is how we would do it.

Not the first day, not the last

The first day belongs to the pool and the jet lag. The last day belongs to packing and the transfer. The canyon is a day-three or day-four excursion: you know your hotel's rhythm, you have had enough beach to appreciate a lake, and there is still a week to tell people about it.

Pick a day with a free evening

The return journey from the canyon begins at around 15:00. From the Side coast that is a late-afternoon arrival — early enough for the beach, early enough for a shower and the old town. Our Side Notes have a piece on pairing the canyon with an evening at the theatre and the harbour columns.

4.5 or 2.5 hours: it does not move the day

Both options take the same day — the same morning pickup and the same return at around 15:00 — so neither fits a tighter schedule than the other. Choose by how much time you want on the water: 4.5 hours if the canyon is the highlight of your week, 2.5 hours if you would rather keep the cruise short. The price and pickup are the same.

Booking: early costs nothing

Because nothing is paid online and cancellation is free up to 48 hours before, the sensible move is to book the day you decide and change it if the week changes. There is no deposit to lose and no reason to wait for a 'last-minute' price that does not exist.
