Green Canyon from Side — questions, answered

Booking, pickup, payment, swimming, children, cancellation. Straight answers; where we do not know, we say so.

How does booking the Green Canyon tour from Side work?
Choose 4.5 or 2.5 hours on the water, pick a date and the number of guests, leave your Side hotel name and phone number, and send the reservation. Nothing is charged online. We confirm by e-mail the same day and you pay on the day of the tour.
Do I pay anything in advance?
No. Booking reserves your seats and costs nothing. Payment happens on the tour day.
What does it cost from Side?
€33 per adult and €20 per child aged 3–11, hotel pickup included — the same price for every Side district and for both options of the catamaran tour. Prices are read live from the booking system.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellation is free up to 48 hours before the start. Since nothing is paid in advance, there is nothing to refund.
When will I know my pickup time?
The day before, once the coach route for your district is set. A fixed minute promised weeks ahead would be a guess, and we do not print guesses. What we can say for certain: the return journey from the canyon begins at around 15:00, whichever option you choose.
Which Side districts have hotel pickup?
All of them: Side centre, Kumköy, Evrenseki, Çolaklı, Titreyengöl, Sorgun, Manavgat, Gündoğdu, Kızılağaç and Kızılot, every day of the season. Each district has its own page with the measured road distance where we have one.
How long is the tour from a Side hotel?
The catamaran cruise lasts 4.5 or 2.5 hours, depending on the option you choose, but the day is the same length either way: the same morning pickup and a return journey that begins at around 15:00. The road is 26 km and about 40 free-flow minutes from Side centre to the jetty, longer with the hotel-collection loop.
Can we swim in the Green Canyon?
Yes. Both options include swimming breaks at designated places announced by the crew, from the catamaran, with the crew present. It is spring-fed fresh water, so it feels cooler than the sea at Side — most guests call that the best part.
Is it suitable for children?
Very. The lake has no waves and children aged 3–11 pay the child rate. Both options share the same day and the same return at around 15:00; the 2.5-hour option simply means less time on deck in the sun. Our 'with children' guide covers strollers, naps and the timing.
Is lunch included?
Yes. An open buffet lunch is included in both options, and so are soft drinks on the catamaran. Drinks ordered at the restaurant and alcoholic drinks are paid separately.
Are there shopping stops?
No. Hotel, canyon, catamaran, back. No carpet showroom, no jewellery detour, no textile outlet. If a day trip you were offered in Side includes shopping stops, it is not ours.
What should I bring?
Swimwear under your clothes, a towel, sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat, a charged phone or camera. The packing guide on this site has the full list, written for a Side hotel room.
What happens in bad weather?
The lake is sheltered mountain water and ordinary wind rarely troubles it. If a cruise cannot operate, we contact you to rebook or cancel free of charge — you have paid nothing in advance either way.
Is the Green Canyon natural or a dam lake?
Both, honestly: a natural mountain canyon on the Manavgat river, flooded when the 185-metre Oymapınar arch dam was completed in 1984. The emerald colour is spring water filtered through limestone — no dye, no filter.
Why book here rather than on a marketplace?
You book with the operator that runs the catamarans: the price is the operator's price with no marketplace commission, changes are handled by the people who hold your reservation, and nothing is paid until the tour day.
